Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 18, 2026

Zygi is built by someone who is going through IVF and surrogacy. We understand how sensitive this information is. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it. The short version: your data is yours, we don't sell it, and we'll never share it with your clinic, agency, or advertisers.

1. What we collect

When you use Zygi, we collect:

  • Account information: your email address and, if you add it, a display name.
  • Journey data: the steps, notes, dates, costs, documents, and team contacts you enter into the app.
  • Usage data: basic technical information such as browser type, device type, and pages visited — used only for understanding how the product is used overall, never tied to individual profiles for advertising.
  • Communications: if you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence to respond to you.

2. What we do not collect

We do not collect payment information (Zygi is free). We do not run advertising trackers. We do not use third-party analytics that sell your behavioral data. We do not require you to connect to any clinic, agency, or insurance system.

3. How we use your information

We use your information solely to:

  • Operate and improve the Zygi service
  • Send you account-related emails (confirmation, password reset)
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Understand aggregate usage patterns to make Zygi better (anonymized)

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own use. We use the following infrastructure providers to operate the service, each of which processes your data only on our behalf and is prohibited from using it for their own purposes:

  • Supabase (supabase.com) — database hosting, file storage, and authentication. Your journey data, documents, and account credentials are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
  • Google Analytics (analytics.google.com) — aggregate, anonymized usage analytics (pages visited, session counts). We do not pass personally identifiable information to Google Analytics. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Transactional email provider — for sending account confirmation and password-reset emails. Only your email address is shared for this purpose.

If we add new providers in the future, we will update this policy before doing so.

5. Your journey data specifically

The steps, notes, costs, and documents you enter are yours. We will never share them with a fertility clinic, surrogacy agency, attorney, or any other party without your explicit, informed consent. We will never use your journey data for research, advertising, or any commercial purpose.

6. Document storage

Documents you upload are stored securely and are accessible only to your account. You can delete them at any time. If you delete your account, your documents are deleted with it.

7. Data security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Our database infrastructure is hosted on Supabase, which provides row-level security so your data is isolated from other users at the database level. We take reasonable steps to protect against unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration.

8. Data retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, or to request a copy of your data, email us at hello@zygihealth.org. If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you additional rights regarding your personal information.

  • We do not sell your personal information. Zygi does not sell, and has never sold, personal information to third parties. You therefore have no need to opt out of a sale — but we are required to tell you this explicitly.
  • Right to know: You may request a summary of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months.
  • Right to delete: You may request that we delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

To exercise these rights, email hello@zygihealth.org with "CCPA Request" in the subject line. We will respond within 45 days.

11. Cookies

Zygi uses two categories of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: Set by Supabase to keep you signed in and maintain your session. These are required for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics sets _ga and _gid cookies to count visits and understand aggregate usage patterns. These cookies do not identify you personally and are not used for advertising. You can opt out at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or any cookies that track you across other websites.

12. Children

Zygi is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice in the app before the changes take effect.

14. Contact
